Outdoor Field Training coming soon!
When the better weather arrives we will have training sessions in our training field where the dogs can enjoy the fresh air. We follow exactly the same format of training and also introduce some extra outdoor activities, more Rally courses and exercises to stimulate you dog without the confines of the hall.
Our field is a secure fenced open field environment.
Coming from Wareham at Bakers Arms turn left onto A35, continue along A35 for approximately 2 miles, turn right at the Lytchett Matravers sign post. Follow the road for approximately half a mile, turn right on the track marked The Barn Cafe.
Coming from Poole on the A35 at Bakers Arms roundabout continue on the A35 towards Bere Regis for approximately half a mile, turn right on the track marked The Barn Cafe.
Coming from Bere Regis take the A35 continue on the A35 turn left at signpost for Lytchett Matravers. Follow the road for approximately half a mile, turn right on the track marked The Barn Cafe.
The speed limit is 10 mph. There is a tight turn to the left, please go very slowly as there is often oncoming traffic on this blind corner. Carry on past the parking field on the left and the Barn Cafe on the right. The entrance to The Orchard is via the second gate on the right hand side. Turn right again and park in front of the hedgerow. This field and parking area is for Wessex Dog Training Members only.
Do not park anywhere else due to the terms in our lease and stick to the 10mph speed limit.
Stay tuned for more information on the field training schedule coming soon.
Cost for these sessions is the same as Hall training -
only £5 per session!
We love to run!
Apart from training and socialising indoors and out in our field, we love to take the dogs out for walks around the area including the forest, heaths and countryside. We are extremely lucky to be in a location which is abundant in open land available to have fun with the dogs outside and also encourage their socialisation skills further. Whether your dog is large or small, young or old they really enjoy the opportunity to let off steam with their friends!
As you can see we have been known to go out in all weathers and conditions - the dogs particularly seem to love the snow! We have regular walks in the Autumn, Winter and Spring months when the field training is inapproriate due to weather and midweek Summer walks. All are welcome to join us and we always have a good picnic afterwards to encourage our own socialisation!
There is no obligation and all these walks are free -
join us if you can.
